An excavation took place in November and December in advance of the construction of the M8/N8 Cullahill to Cashel road improvement scheme. Prior assessments and centreline test-trenching were carried out in 2005 (Excavations 2005, No. 1388, A027/008) and 2006 (see No. 1865, Excavations 2006, E2395). Testing revealed multiple areas of archaeological potential, so the site was subdivided into a series of different areas. These were designated as AR9A–E. A series of pits and a possible cremation were revealed during excavation of AR9B. However, apart from the remains of a modern field boundary and a modern field drain, no other archaeological features or artefacts were uncovered.
