Monitoring was carried out for a proposed housing development at Rathbraughan, Co. Sligo. The proposed development will consist of up to 24 housing units and is located in a 2.46-acre field, under pasture, located to the north-east of Sligo city centre. The ground is mainly low-lying, sloping up sharply at the northern corner. There are no known archaeological sites within the proposed development area, but a mill site (SL014–023) is situated c. 35m east of the proposed development site and a ringfort site (SL014–024) is situated c. 90m east of it. Topsoil-stripping was carried out using a mechanical excavator fitted with a toothless bucket. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered.
