The site lies at the north end of the village of Collooney, on the right bank of the Owenmore River. It comprises a medieval church and graveyard (SL020–203(01, 02)), both situated in the middle of what became a major flour-milling enterprise during the 19th century (SL020–204). The ecclesiastical site is abutted on two sides by stores associated with the former mill. The site is being redeveloped, with the mill buildings largely demolished. Planning permission was obtained to convert the two store buildings, which abut the church and graveyard, into apartments. On foot of this permission, the church and graveyard was subjected to a detailed architectural survey undertaken by Fred Hamond.
