Five test-trenches were opened on the site of a single-house development in the townland of Carrowhubbuck South, c. 2km north of the seaside village of Enniscrone. The house site is just to the south of an archaeological complex, comprising a large cliff edge fort, four hut sites, a souterrain and a field wall.
Although nothing significant was uncovered during geophysical survey undertaken on the site, testing was nevertheless undertaken. No archaeological features were uncovered in any of the test-trenches. Two relatively modern features were uncovered: a wall foundation no earlier than the 19th century and a French drain cut in the latter half of the 20th century.
