Pre-development testing was undertaken in June 2006 in compliance with a condition of planning permission for a proposed machinery shed, workshop, septic tank and percolation area. The proposed development is located 60m south of a ringfort (RO034–089). Two trenches were excavated in the area of the development. The stratigraphy encountered consisted of sod and topsoil overlying a light-brown clayey subsoil which overlay grey marl. The testing revealed no features of archaeological significance.
