Pre-development testing was undertaken on the site of a proposed residential development in the townland of Kilcolman on the outskirts of Ballaghadereen, Co. Roscommon. The proposed development is located north of a ringfort (RO008–038). Six trenches were excavated in the area of the development. The stratigraphy encountered was similar throughout and consisted of sod and topsoil overlying a clayey subsoil which overlay a natural boulder clay or marl. The testing revealed no features of archaeological significance.
