An underwater assessment was undertaken of a proposed abstraction pipeline for the proposed Grange Lough group water supply scheme, Co. Roscommon.
The terrain in this area mainly comprised grey/brown podzolic clays and gleys which have occasional deposits of inter-drumlin peat and peaty gleys. The geology of the region is characterised by limestone glacial till.
With regard to the underwater cultural heritage, it was necessary to undertake a magnetometer survey surrounding the abstraction point. This did not record the presence of any archaeological material.
