The site is located on the north side of Boyle within the zone of archaeological potential for the medieval town. An assessment of a proposed extension to a building formerly known as The Magpie’s Nest, at Green Street, Boyle, revealed the foundations of a short wall spur, earlier than the extant 18th/19th-century building (Excavations 2005, No. 1313). The subsequent monitoring of the proposed development revealed no further architectural or archaeological features that could be part of an earlier building.
