Monitoring was conducted during the topsoil-stripping in May of a site proposed for a housing development at Knockroe/Cornacassa Demesne, Monaghan. The topsoil was 0.1–0.3m of dark-brown clay; the subsoil was yellow boulder clay. Only one half of the proposed site was stripped of topsoil, as the other half would have piled foundations due to the wet ground. The monitor disclosed no material of an archaeological nature.
