Testing was undertaken as part of an assessment at 38–39 St Loman’s Street, Trim, in 2003 (Excavations 2003, No. 1473). Medieval deposits and a wall of unknown date came to light during this testing. Further testing was recommended to establish the limits of the archaeology observed. A second assessment was carried out in October 2006, under an extension of the same licence. The site is located on the west side of St Loman’s Street, c. 100m east of ME036–028, Trim’s town wall. There was a mound to the rear (west) of the site, which had a stone wall on the south side.
Two test-trenches were excavated. The testing disclosed no further archaeological deposits or material. This second assessment recommended monitoring during the construction phase. This was conducted during the groundworks associated with the development, under an extension of the same licence in November and December. The monitoring disclosed no material of an archaeological nature.
