An assessment in advance of the proposed development of a wastewater treatment works in the townland of Stamullen, Co. Meath, was carried out in September 2006. The development is located within the village of Stamullen, immediately north-east of ME034–001, the medieval church and graveyard. The site is bordered to the east by the River Delvin.

A total of five test-trenches were excavated, exposing extensive dumping of refuse and topsoil overlying natural boulder clay. The site has been heavily disturbed in the past. Field boundaries from the first-edition 6-inch OS map of 1836 were uncovered. No archaeological remains were exposed in the assessment. It was recommended that the foundations for the southern tank be monitored during construction, as this area was covered with construction waste and it was not practical to test it.
