This site was located within Contract 1 (Dunboyne to Dunshaughlin) of the proposed M3 Clonee to north of Kells motorway and was identified during advance testing by Aidan O’Connell in March 2004 (Excavations 2004, No. 1313, 04E0468). O’Connell identified and fully excavated a pit (0.42m diameter by 0.11m depth) which was relocated during the archaeological resolution of the site in March 2006. Excavation also revealed a pattern of 19th-century French drains and ditches forming a drainage system which channelled excess water off the field. No further archaeological features or finds were uncovered.
