This site was located within Contract 2 (Dunshaughlin to Navan) of the proposed M3 Clonee to north of Kells motorway and was identified during advance archaeological testing by Jonathan Dempsey in April 2004 (Excavations 2004, No. 1336, 04E0415) when a post-hole, a hearth and two cremation pits were observed. Full resolution of the site between June and July 2006 revealed two subcircular pits (0.65m by 0.45m by 0.03m and 0.43m by 0.41m by 0.12m). A flint flake was discovered during excavation of the pit fills.
