Planning permission was granted to demolish an existing single-storey retail building and to construct a new two-storey building on the site, extending further northwards than the existing structure. The floor level was retained. Monitoring was required. The site is located on the west end of Main Street, Enfield. Dark garden soil was exposed underneath the concrete shop floor. Mixed natural sand, gravel and boulder clay lay underneath the garden soil. Nothing of archaeological significance was exposed.
