This site was located within Contract 2 (Dunshaughlin to Navan) of the proposed M3 Clonee to north of Kells motorway and was identified during advance testing by Jonathan Dempsey between March and April 2004 (04E0418). Full resolution of the site in August 2006 revealed two shallow oval hearths (2.2m by 1m by 0.2m deep and 0.89m by 0.43m by 0.15m deep) filled with burnt stone and charcoal, one of which was located in an earlier tree bole. These hearths may have functioned as prehistoric ovens or meat-roasting pits.
