This site was located within Contract 5 (Kells to north of Kells) of the proposed M3 Clonee to north of Kells motorway and was identified during advance testing by David Bayley (Excavations 2004, No. 1205, 04E1054). Full resolution started in October 2006 and is ongoing. Excavation has so far revealed a circular structure formed by a penannular slot-trench, averaging 0.6m wide and 0.3m deep, part of which is truncated by a later field drain.
