This site was located within Contract 5 (Kells to north of Kells) of the proposed M3 Clonee to north of Kells motorway and was identified during advance testing by David Bayley (Excavations 2004, No. 1205, 04E1054). Full resolution in October 2006 revealed, in addition to three pits originally discovered during testing, two small charcoal spreads and a linear field drain. No diagnostic artefacts were associated with any of these features, with the exception of the drain, which contained two sherds of earthenware pottery.
