The Holywell group water supply scheme involved pipelaying in the environs of Holywell, near Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo. The scheme was c. 11km long. Pipeline was laid within undulating pastureland, low-lying marsh, existing roadway and roadside verge. Two monuments, an ecclesiastical complex in Holywell Lower (MA103–003(01–03)) and an enclosure in Bracklagh (MA102–029), which might have been impacted on by the scheme, were mitigated by diverting the pipeline away from the sites. No archaeological finds or features were found during monitoring.
