The Frenchbrook South and Cartron group water schemes, Kilmaine, involved pipelaying south of Kilmaine, Co. Mayo. The scheme was c. 3.4km long. Pipeline was laid within flat pastureland, low-lying marsh, existing roadway and roadside verge. An archaeological complex (enclosure, castle, earthwork(s)), MA122–017(01–03), in Turin townland, that would be impacted on by the scheme was mitigated by diverting the pipeline away from the site. No archaeological finds or features were found during monitoring.
