Excavation of this site was undertaken on 22–30 November 2005. The site was newly identified during centreline testing (A020/003) and was fully excavated in advance of the construction of the N5 Charlestown bypass. It was situated 17m west and 24m north of Area I in blanket peat at an altitude of 104.63m OD. The spread consisted of burnt stones in a charcoal-rich silty clay and measured 4.28m north–south by 4.56m by 0.04–0.2m thick. Tree roots in the south-west quadrant had heavily disturbed the site. The spread lay directly on redeposited natural, below which was a layer of peat that rested on the undisturbed natural subsoil.

The remains of a large fallen tree and associated root system were exposed during the excavation of the south-west quadrant of the site. It is probable that this site was the location of a burnt-out tree bole.
