Excavation was undertaken on this site on 18–23 May 2006. The site was newly identified during centreline testing (A020/003) and was fully excavated in advance of the construction of the N5 Charlestown bypass. The site was located at an altitude of 132m OD. The subrectangular-shaped spread consisted of two deposits. It measured 6.5m east–west by 4.5m by 0.36m thick. The upper deposit was visible on the east and west sides, measured 5m east–west by 3m by 0.05–0.36m thick and was a mid-greyish-brown peaty clay with very frequent inclusions of burnt stone. The lower deposit was located in the centre of the mound, measured 3–3.5m north–south by 1.3m by 0.17–0.2m thick and was a silty clay matrix with occasional inclusions of burnt stone. No other features of archaeological significance were identified.
