Testing was undertaken in this area on 6 October 2005 to ascertain its archaeological potential as specified by the EIS. The area tested was located at an altitude of 122m OD. An area 20m north–south by 6m was tested using a 360° mechanical digger with a 2m-wide toothless bucket. The area was excavated to the depth of the natural subsoil. No features or deposits of archaeological significance were identified.
