Testing was undertaken in this area on 18–22 August 2005 to ascertain its archaeological potential as specified in the EIS. An area 50m east–west by 20m was opened by a 360° tracked machine with a 2m-wide toothless bucket. The area tested was c. 20m south of an enclosure at an altitude of 91.5m OD and within the line of the proposed road. No features or archaeological deposits were identified.
