Testing was undertaken in this area on 11–16 August 2005 to ascertain its archaeological potential as specified in the EIS. The area tested was c. 25m south of an enclosure (possible) and within the line of the proposed road. An area 50m east–west by 20m was opened by a 360° tracked machine with a 2m-wide toothless bucket. It was at an altitude of 88m OD. No features or archaeological deposits were identified.
