Testing was undertaken on this feature on 26 August 2005 to ascertain its archaeological potential as specified in the EIS. The feature was at an altitude of 110m OD. Two test-trenches were opened by a 360º-tracked machine with a 2m wide toothless bucket. The north–south trench measured 23.5m long by 2m and the east–west trench was 31m long by 2m. Both trenches were excavated to the depth of the natural subsoil. No features or deposits of archaeological significance were identified in either trench.
