Excavation of this site took place at a planned housing scheme. The site was one of a number identified as a result of extensive testing (Excavations 2005, No. 1078, 05E0963).
A figure-of-eight-shaped kiln measuring 2.11m by 1.04m by 0.56m was excavated. It contained two charcoal-rich layers; charcoal and charred grains from the base of the kiln await identification and dating. A linear field boundary/drainage ditch was also recorded. It was of the same orientation as existing field boundaries and other linear ditches that were excavated in the course of nearby excavations 06E0485 and 06E0484 (see Nos 1367 and 1368, Excavations 2006).
