Testing was undertaken on a site at Leland Place, Wellington Quay, in March as part of an assessment. The site is in the historical town of Drogheda. Four test-trenches were excavated on the site to the rear of an existing dwelling, where it was proposed to construct an extension. They were excavated to a depth of 0.8m and the soil was yellow/brown sandy clay. The testing disclosed no material of an archaeological nature.
