This testing was carried out over the course of three days in a greenfield site in advance of the development of a hotel complex and houses. An enclosure is within the site boundary and a tower-house is adjacent to the development. A total of eighteen trenches of various lengths were enacted throughout the site from the topsoil down to the subsoil, one of which partially uncovered the remains of a small burnt mound; the other trenches proved to be negative.
