The topsoil-stripping necessitated by upgrading works to an existing water treatment facility at this site was monitored to the level of the undisturbed natural subsoil. These works involved the construction of a 7.29m2 water treatment building and a 6.82m2 chlorination tank, with an associated access road, carpark and service trenches. The topsoil layer averaged 0.2m deep and directly overlay the undisturbed natural subsoil. There were no archaeological features or finds recorded during monitoring at this site.
