Testing was carried out in advance of the construction of a dwelling house and associated site works. The site lies within the zone of archaeological potential for a ring-barrow, which is situated to the south of the site, c. 25m from the outermost proposed groundworks. It is also separated from the development by a substantial drain and hedgerow.
Five trenches were excavated. The development site consisted of a portion of a large field currently in pasture. All trenches were excavated by a JCB. Nothing of an archaeological nature was found.
