Testing was undertaken in advance of this project between January and March 2006. A total of 86 direction (sub-scheme) numbers were allocated by the NRA Project Archaeologist in advance of the testing project. Twenty-seven areas of archaeological potential were uncovered during the testing and sites were identified for further archaeological investigation and/or excavation. Fulachta fiadh were the most common site type found. The sites found were initially identified as described in the table shown opposite.
