A programme of archaeological excavations was undertaken as part of the N4 Dromod Roosky bypass at the request of Leitrim County Council. In total, 25 potential archaeological sites were identified during centreline testing as part of the advance archaeological investigation (see No. 1214 above, 05E0983).
Moher 3 consisted of a large subrectangular spread of burnt material measuring 2.8m in width and 6.4m in length with a maximum depth of 0.2m. This was below the topsoil and above the natural. A quernstone was located within the spread, as well as numerous pieces of modern pottery and glass; this appears to be an area of modern disturbance. The quernstone appears to be an isolated modern deposit.
