This bog was scheduled to be surveyed as part of the 2006 Peatland Survey, which concentrated on Bord na Móna’s Littleton group of bogs. Knockahaw Bog is located 1km west of the R433, midway between Rathdowney and Templemore, and straddles counties Laois and Tipperary. This bog was prepared for production in the mid 1980s but has not yet been milled. The bog was too overgrown to facilitate archaeological survey and shall be returned to when production commences in the next few years.
