A series of test-trenches were excavated on the footprint of the proposed development of a single dwelling in compliance with the planning conditions, as the site lies at the edge of the constraint zone of the monastic settlement at Aghaboe. No features or finds of an archaeological nature were uncovered in any of the trenches opened.
