Kilkenny County Council requested an assessment of a proposed slatted-shed development within the area of constraint of KK035–016, a moated site. The moated site survived only as low earthworks. The development area was situated 20m south of the monument. Three test-trenches were excavated within the proposed development area. The only feature of note discovered was a single pit with a burnt fill. No evidence as to its date was recovered, though, given its proximity to the moated site, an association is likely. The development proceeded with archaeological monitoring after the instigation of a buffer zone. Nothing of interest was noted during monitoring.
