Kilkenny County Council requested an archaeological assessment of a proposed single-house development at Killeen, Kilmanagh, adjacent to a ringfort that was not noted in the RMP Register. The ringfort is a well-preserved example and it is marked on the first- and second-edition OS maps. Three test-trenches were opened mechanically. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted and the development proceeded with archaeological monitoring as a condition of planning.
