Archaeological excavations were conducted in advance of the N9/N10 Waterford to Powerstown realignment in August–October 2006. Excavations revealed a rock-cut enclosure ditch that extended outside the excavation area. The feature is reflected in the existing field pattern and has been traced with geophysical survey. Several mixed-use pits, a small metalworking area and a single possible cremation pit were identified outside the enclosure.
