Archaeological excavations were conducted in advance of the N9/N10 Waterford to Powerstown realignment from October 2006. Excavation has extended into 2007. Features include an Early Christian enclosure with associated boundary system overlying an earlier palisaded enclosure containing circular structures. Other earlier features include cremation pits, circular huts and a concentration of pits containing Neolithic grooved ware.
