This bog was surveyed as part of the 2006 Peatland Survey which was concentrated in Bord na Móna’s Littleton group of bogs. Templetouhy Bog is located 2km east of Templetouhy village and measures 742ha in size. It straddles counties Kilkenny, Laois and Tipperary. Two plank trackway sites were recorded in the northern extent of the bog, which were dated to 1190–820 bc and 1033 bc69.
