Kilkenny County Council requested an assessment of a proposed single-house development within the area of constraint of a tower-house, KK023–084, and adjacent to the area of constraint of KK023–022, a ‘monastic barn’. These monuments form the most visible components of a wider medieval settlement that had its origins as a grange of Duiske Abbey, Graiguenamanagh. Testing of the proposed development area failed to uncover any materials of significance. It was recommended that the groundworks for the development be monitored.
