Ten test-trenches were opened on the sites of two single houses. The sites were situated on the opposite side of a public road to a church and graveyard. No archaeological remains were uncovered in the course of testing works. Four features of relatively modern provenance were, however, exposed. They included two furrows in one trench, a field drain and a furrow picked up in the first two openings. There was also evidence for stubble burning in another trench.
