Testing was undertaken to the rear of No. 4 Church View, Straffan, in March 2006, in compliance with a request for further information pertaining to the construction of a rear extension to a terraced cottage. The site is situated to the east of a church and graveyard, believed to be the location of an Early Christian ecclesiastical site. The ruined remains of a church with residential tower, dating to the medieval period, are contained in the graveyard. Six trenches were excavated in the back garden of the property. Nothing of archaeological interest was uncovered.
