The site was excavated as part of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford scheme: Kilcullen to Powerstown. A figure-of-eight kiln, with in situ burning, measuring 2.5m long (east–west) and 1.4m wide, was excavated, along with several pits, post- and stake-holes. A large rectangular pit measuring 2.4m long (east–west), 1.8m wide and 0.5m deep contained fulacht-type material and post-holes at each corner. A small flint scatter, knapping stone and prehistoric pottery were recovered from the excavation.
