Monitoring of topsoil-stripping associated with the widening of Sexes Road was undertaken. Monitoring identified one linear feature, which was found to contain several sherds of pottery thought to be medieval in date. The feature extends outside of the limit of the road development and no other features were found in association. It is possible that the feature, which was not deep, represents a gully that may have been used for drainage or in order to define separate plots. The gully was located c. 5m from the existing road and ran at a perpendicular angle to it.
