Monitoring was undertaken on the site of a proposed gravel-extraction pit associated with a nearby quarry. Monitoring revealed the presence of three anomalous pit features, all of which were excavated. Two of the pits were deemed not to be of archaeological significance, as they were very shallow and contained a homogenous fill in which was found some modern material. The third feature was a single cremation burial pit. It was fully excavated and is now awaiting analysis.
