Three test-trenches as a component part of an archaeological impact assessment were undertaken at a proposed development site at No. 3 Moyderwell, Tralee. The site is within the medieval zone of Tralee.
Trench 1 was aligned north–south, while Trenches 2 and 3 were aligned north-east/south-west. An overburden of mid-brown friable silty loam, 0.3–0.6m in depth, covered natural subsoil. Several finds, including red-brick fragments, white-glazed ceramics and clay-pipe stems typical of the 19th century, were recorded within the overburden. The subsoil was light-brownish-yellow, firm sandy clay with occasional small sub-rounded sandstones. Nothing of archaeological significance was recorded within the trenches.
