Four test-trenches were machine excavated on a site at Tinnies Lower, Chapeltown, Valencia Island. Topsoil was removed to a depth of 0.3–0.4m in the trenches. This overlay a light-grey clay subsoil. No archaeological finds or levels were noted in the trenches.
