An intertidal survey was carried out along a section of the northern foreshore of the Kenmare River and along the eastern bank of the River Finnihy, where it is proposed to run two outfall pipes through the intertidal area, for a proposed development. The intertidal area along the Kenmare River comprises a stony beach shoreline protected on the landward side by either a planted low cliff face, large rocks or drystone walls. There is a quay on the north bank of the Kenmare River to the east of the intertidal area which is used as an amenity by the general public. The bank of the River Finnihy is less accessible, much of it (especially to the east) being very overgrown or consisting of rock outcrop. There were no features or finds of archaeological significance identified during the intertidal survey.
