Test-trenching was carried out in advance of the construction of a proposed dwelling house at Farranaspig, Killarney. The site for the proposed house is located within the zone of potential for two fulachta fiadh, which, according to the cartographic evidence, were located in the front garden of the proposed dwelling. An impact assessment carried out in April 2006 did not find any aboveground trace of these fulachta fiadh, and found that the site appears to have been stripped of its topsoil in the past.

Five trenches were excavated at this site. Nothing of an archaeological nature was noted.
