Three test-trenches were opened on this proposed development site at Dungeagan, Ballinskelligs, using a mechanical excavator. Topsoil was removed to a depth of 0.4–0.5m in the trenches. This overlay a red/brown subsoil with stones throughout and clayey in places. No archaeological finds or levels were noted.
